A truly touching video of a widowed grandfather who brought to tears when his family gave him a surprise gift of Yorkshire Terrier puppy.
Francois Vermeir, a Belgian grandfather was mourning over the loss of his beloved wife. Their marriage lasted for more than 60 years when his wife passed away on July 26, 2014.
“It was truly the saddest day of his life”, Davy Vanhaesendonck said. Davy is Vermeir’s grandson.
“We want to give him energy and the courage to continue living his life”. “It was also recently when our grandfather also lost his dog. he both lost his wife as well as his dog in just a span of four months.”
The family got together and thought of something to give to their grieving grandpa. They thought that giving him a puppy will at least lessen the sadness of their grandfather Vermeir.
“One fine day, we got together and surprised him with a Yorkshire Terrier.”
Davy filmed the heartwarming moment when they surprised their grandpa. He uploaded the video on Youtube where it became a viral sensation. Netizens were moved by the video and up until now, it has more than 7 million views on Youtube.
In the video, tears begin to flow down Vermeir’s face as soon as he cradled the adorable puppy. He named his new puppy Scooby.”I can’t believe it”, their Grandfather said as soon as he saw the Yorkie puppy.
“I can’t believe it. Is it for me? Thank you, darling.” their Grandfather said as soon as he saw the Yorkie puppy presented to him by his granddaughter Lisa.
This simple act made by Vermeir’s family is truly heartwarming. They wanted to comfort him with the present of a new puppy companion in which moved Vermeir into tears.
